This is a very complex topic, as there is a lot to cover in the general field of social media marketing.
Trying to tell you how to use social media for marketing on one page will only ever be a summary, but you can always get in touch with me if you want to rely on my expertise to do it for you, or give you some coaching.
It’s probably more complex than SEO, because it incorporates not one but multiple search engines on different social media sites, all with their own specific rules and algorithms.
For example, even if you just wanted to use Facebook Ads, there are dozens of different targeting features to learn, and making the ad in the right way can only be done through experience.
You have to make an ad that will only encourage clicks from the targeted people you want on your page, while also making it look enticing enough for as many of those people as possible to want to click on it so you get a good click through rate.
I can see that already the beginner’s eyes are starting to glaze over, so I’ll move on to something simple about Facebook.
If you make a Facebook page with a keyword phrase title that has exact match search volume on the Google keyword tool, or that you think would be something that lots of people would search for, you can rank that page for the phrase on Google.
By getting likes, and making links back to the page from high quality, relevant pages both on Facebook and from other domains, you can rank it highly in a Google search.
It’s a really simple formula, make a good page with a good title, add lots of good relevant content, then get tons of likes, make tons of quality back links and cross links, and that’s it.
Over time, if you’re consistent and do the right things which is fairly simple to understand if you understand basic SEO, it will work for any search.
Simple Ways To Get Fast Traffic From Social Media
My suggestion to most people is that they should just get all of the Twitter followers that they can, so long as they are real random followers, not fake.
Check the link at the top of the sidebar, and buy as many Twitter followers as you can afford, because it’s social power. It really works, it means instant traffic is at your fingertips whenever you want it.
It does depend on whether your site or product has widespread appeal or not, but even so with tens of thousands of followers, it’s likely you will find your target audience, so long as you keep tweeting.
That might cost you a thousand dollars or so to get a huge following, maybe two, but the money you’ll make over time if you can imagine regular people buying your stuff is going to pay for that many times, or it has for me.
Linked In groups are another way to get traffic ridiculously fast. You have to join the right sort of groups and you don’t want to spam them or they’ll just remove you from the group, but it is awesome.
I’m a member of about a dozen groups related to internet marketing, SEO or social media marketing.
When I have a post that is really informative or really important to me, I share it with all the groups I’m in by clicking the Add This button in my browser, which brings up the Linked In share screen.
The link to the share goes out to tens of thousands of people’s emails, and it only took me a few seconds to join the group. It’s crazy traffic, but again, treat it with respect and don’t spam, or you’ll be thrown out.
It’s a similar thing on Google Plus, there are all sorts of community groups being formed, although the site is still new, so most of them aren’t that big yet.
I could tell you about Stumble Upon, but that takes a long time, I could tell you about Yahoo Answers, but that doesn’t really work all that well.
You Tube is great, but I don’t really think I need to say much on that, just make good videos with titles that are keyword phrase that have good exact match search volume, that’s it.
Then, once you have good videos, tweet them to your tens of thousands of Twitter followers and share them on your Facebook page, which should also have a few thousand likes.
